Gearbox Alignment within Manufacturer Tolerances

Gearbox alignment tolerances depend to a large extent on the speed of rotation of the shafts. Machine alignment should be carried out to within manufacturer’s tolerances wherever possible. The table provided in the Fixturlaser XA and GO systems can be helpful if no limits are specified by the manufacturer. The suggested tolerances can be used as a starting point for developing in-house gearbox alignment tolerances when the machinery manufacturer’s recommended tolerances are not available. The tolerances are the maximum allowable deviation from desired shaft alignment values.
